LUSH haul
2 Oct
>It’s been a long, long time since I went to LUSH. Once upon a time (several years ago), I used their shampoo bars, before I learned about Chagrin Valley bars. However, I popped in today to see about trying out a different face wash and walked out with a HUGE bag of goodies. The salesgirls there love me now. They actually hugged me before I left, which should give you some small idea of how much I bought.
I’m now the proud owner of:
King of Skin Body Butter
Ocean Salt Cleanser
A Crash Course In Skincare Mask (not online)
Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter
I Love Juicy Shampoo
Veganese Conditioner
Butterball Bath Bomb
Sakura Bath Bomb
Karma Bubble Bar
Bathos Bubble Bar
Ice Blue Soap
A big pack that contains the following bath bombs: Avobath, Champagne Supernova, Sex Bomb, Honey Bee, Haagenbath, Big Blue
They also hooked me up with the following samples:
Herbalism Cleanser
Angels On Bare Skin Cleanser
Dark Angels Cleanser
Imperialis Moisturizer
Dream Cream Body Cream
So far I’ve washed and moisturized twice with Herbalism and Imperialis. The combination feels really good on my skin, which is breaking out a bit on the left side (thus the need for a new cleanser- the changing seasons make my skin go all wonky). I’ll have to use them more before I know if they’re working. I’m also looking forward to trying the other two samples of cleanser because I’ve heard good things about both.
I washed and conditioned my hair today with I Love Juicy and Veganese. I’ll be honest, I have a supreme fear of SLS and ALS, and LUSH shampoos use both (although not at the same time, so that’s something). The girls at the store assured me that they’ve had no problems with the shampoos causing hair breakage. One of the girls had hair pretty close to mine, so I figured I’d buy the smallest bottles and give them a try. I like the way they made my hair look and feel, but it’s going to take a while before I know if there’s damage happening. I figure I should know for sure in about two weeks.
I used the Sakura Bath Bomb already. It was neat, but nothing to write home about, especially for the price. I like my Japanese onsen bath salts (Nihon no Meito) much better, considering that it’s just a little extra money for many uses, as opposed to a one time use item. I’m hoping the Bubble Bars will be a better deal, since they can be cut into pieces. I didn’t dislike the Bomb, but it’s not something I’d use with any regularity.
Lemony Flutter and Ocean Salt, used together, is awesome for the surgical scars on my hand. They tend to get really dry, and the only thing that helped it was the Mary Kay Satin Hands treatment, which I quit using years ago due to the ingredients. This combo was just like the Satin Hands, without all the toxic crap. I also used some Lemony Flutter on my elbows and they’re not ashy looking now. That product alone will send me back to LUSH again, I’m sure.
