Quick Linnaeus EOTD

27 Jul

My bathroom has the worst lighting in the world, but the natural light is nonexistent thanks to a line of thunderstorms that will make sunlight scarce for the next three days.  Consequently, I’m not doing a full face photo, but I wanted to share this eyeshadow look.  It’s very washed out – I can’t figure out why my skin looks so dark but my makeup so light- but I cracked open my new Linnaeus Cosmetics shadows today and had to wear one.

This is Linnaeus Cosmetics Blue Meanie, which is a lovely greyed teal, paired with Aromaleigh Moth on the lid and Bokeh Face Glass Slipper on the browbone.  Glass Slipper reminds me of a more transparent Moth and makes the best ever highlight shade.  The green sparkle in Moth perfectly complements the blue-green sparkle and shimmer of Blue Meanie.  I added the tiniest bit of Linnaeus Cosmetics Show Off (purple) to the outer corner of the Blue Meanie to add depth, but of course you can’t see it in this horribly lighted pic.  Show Off is also lining the lower lashes.  I wish I could get natural light because this look is beautiful- Blue Meanie is an amazingly gorgeous color.  I’m going to have to recreate this look and snap a photo once the sun comes out of hiding.

Arugh! Stupid camera and poor lighting situations! Trust me, I know about those haha. Despite that, it still looks gorgeous!

I’m glad you like it! I have a funny story for you. Yesterday a Japanese beetle somehow got into the house and scared the bejeezus out of my 7 year old daughter. She FREAKED and when I came running, I saw the beetle just sitting there minding its own business. :) It had a beautiful metallic green head and when I pointed it out to my daughter, she stopped being scared and started admiring it. Of course, then I had to tell her about my new eyeshadows that were ALSO based on a scarab. We geeked out over the Rose Chafer collection and then we trapped the Japanese beetle and released it into the backyard. Crisis averted! LOL

haha! Yay! Way to go for saving the day, geeking out (over makeup, too!), and helping a little beetle out! That’s a cute story :D

I definitely need the Rose Chafer collection. Plotting an order for this weekend–all the new shades I’m seeing are SO PRETTY.

The Rose Chafer collection is perfect in so many ways. I also picked up the Vaquita collection because I have been dying for a full size of Ecco since I got a sample of it. I’m just waiting for some sunshine so I can swatch them all.
